Explore Wok And Grill

Tucked away at 1085 O'Connor Dr in Toronto, Wok And Grill is the kind of place you might pass by without a second glance-but stepping inside reveals a lively, welcoming atmosphere that feels more like a neighborhood hub than just a restaurant. The space often buzzes with energy, from casual gatherings and friendly games of pool to celebrations that give the room a warm, communal vibe. What really stands out, though, is the personal touch: the chef is known for interacting with guests, sometimes even customizing dishes to suit individual tastes, which adds a level of care you don’t often find. The menu leans into classic Chinese comfort food, but it’s the freshness and generous portions that keep people coming back. Dishes like chow mein arrive loaded with meat and vegetables, clearly made to satisfy rather than skimp, and the pricing feels refreshingly reasonable for the quality and quantity offered. Whether you’re grabbing takeout late in the evening or ordering large trays for a group, the consistency in flavor and value is impressive. The staff contribute just as much to the experience, offering friendly, attentive service that makes guests feel genuinely welcome, whether it’s your first visit or a return trip. Even the setting, which has a casual, almost sports-bar-like feel, adds to its charm-unpretentious, accessible, and easy to settle into. It’s also accommodating, making it comfortable for a wide range of guests. Altogether, Wok And Grill delivers a combination of hearty food, fair pricing, and authentic hospitality that turns what could be a simple meal into something memorable.

Picked for the reviews. Very unassuming, more like a sports bar. Came in with a family member in wheelchair. Easy to get in and get around. Staff pleasant, efficient and helpful. The Food, big surprise, fresh, very tasty, nice portions and very reasonable prices. The chef came up to talk to us, we had a pleasant conversation. He asked if there was anything he could do to make the food better. It was an great experience. Even though I live in St Catharine’s, I am looking forward to dine there again. Thank you to all the staff, and regular patrons who were so welcoming. A hidden gem for sure

I have been eating here for a while now. I don't know why I have never left a review but better late than never! The food here is great, and the way they treat you is even better! I recommend eating food from here. It is a sports bar though, so maybe don't come here for a date - but if you want to catch the game, go for it!

We had a hankering for Chinese food and it was getting late, this was a couple Fridays ago. This place was still open so we popped by to get take out. It was nice to see this local place in full swing - people playing pool, other people coming in to order food and I think there was a birthday thing going on. Chef there was super cool; was chatting with birthday guy and then asked me what I wanted to order and basically customized it for me. Lady at the front really nice too. The fact that the food was made fresh, the portions decent and at a reasonable price point is why I'll come back. Will probably order trays for next get together. Update: As promised, came back for a light dinner and ordered trays for a gathering tomorrow. Got to talk to the chef again, Tula. Great guy. Showed us the size of the trays he uses and how he doesn't chintz on portions. I believe it because our chow mein was so good with plenty of meat and veggies. At $11 you're not going to find that price with that taste and freshness anywhere these days. This place is a hidden gem and I love the vibe. Will continue to support!

This is my favorite local bar in East York. You’re always greeted by the owner, Tula (who will try to challenge you to a game of pool). The food is amazing, especially the shrimp rolls. Definitely worth a visit!

I decided to try this hidden gem for takeout on my birthday. This place was absolutely surprising. Food was unbelievable and decently priced. $156 for 5 people to share and we ordered about 10-12 meals I think. You do not want to sleep on this place. The girl that took our payment (maybe also bartender?) was a doll and so friendly. I actually called after we ate to say how good it was lol. 10/10
